In many of the MUNEE countries, independent regulatory commissions prepare tariff-setting methodologies for district heat and water, draft energy laws that shape that country's energy sector, and govern a municipality's ability to implement energy efficiency programs. In some cases, these commissions delegate the authority for tariff approval to local authorities. In other cases, the commission retains all tariff-making rights. The following MUNEE countries have established or are in the process of establishing informational websites that outline the authority and responsibility of state and local energy regulatory bodies.
