Romania: Law Concerning the Efficient Use of Energy; November 2000 (58 kb)
The purpose of this Law is the creation of the legal framework required for the setting up and enforcement of a national policy in Romania for the efficient use of energy, according to the Energy Charter Treaty, the Protocol of the Energy Charter regarding energy efficiency and environment protection as well as the principles of the sustainable development.

Slovenia: The Energy Act of 1999 (33 kb)
The aim of this Act is to ensure the conditions for the development of a society with safe, permanent, reliable supplies of energy and the efficient use of same, and the economical use of renewable energy resources with respect for conditions of environmental protection.

This Act determines the principles of energy policy, the rules for the energy market, the manner and form of the implementation of commercial public services in the area of energy, the principle of reliable supply and efficient use of energy, etc.

Survey of Energy Efficiency Laws and Policy Provisions in 22 Countries and Two Regions: Recommendations for Policymakers (200 kb)
This MUNEE report is a summary of existing energy efficiency laws and regulations in 22 countries, the Commonwealth of Independent States and the European Union.

The information was collected as part of the Alliance effort to draft primary energy legislation for Armenia during 2003 and also compiled and supplemented by the Alliance Serbia efforts report in technical assistance to Macedonia.
