The factsheet briefly addresses information on the financial status of condominiums, the problems and needs for technical assistance and investment, as based on the information collected during a condominium survey conducted in five Armenian cities.
Armenia - Alliance to Save Energy: summary of MUNEE activities in 2002

National Program on Energy Saving and Renewable Energy of Armenia
This document contains unprecedented, interdisciplinary assessment of the energy saving and renewable energy potential in all sectors of the Armenian economy, including enterprise-level analyses for all large energy producers. The National Program proposes 16 categories of energy efficiency measures (including technical, institutional, administrative, financial, etc.) setting a nationwide cut in energy use by 1 million t.o.e. annually.
Decentralizing Residential Heating in Armenia: Pilot Projects report
The report presents recent trends in decentralized heating of multi-apartment buildings in Armenia. Technical solutions, their economic effectiveness and implementation barriers are studied. The analysis is based on projects implemented in Yerevan, Gumri and Aparan.
Building EE Revolving Fund Program
During the 2005-2007 Building Energy Efficiency (EE) Revolving Funds were established in the cities of Gumri and Vanadzor. The EE Revolving Funds provide small, interest-free loans (USD $500-600) with a 6-month repayment period. This helps condominiums increase the energy efficiency of buildings and improve space heat conservation in common areas; improve management and assist condominiums in maintaining the building stock, while eliminating the barrier of upfront lack of capital. The document provides a summary of the successful results of the Revolving Funds in Armenia through July 2007.

Guidelines on Thermal Insulation for Buildings
The Alliance to Save Energy - Yerevan office has worked with the UNDP/GEF and the National Association of Condominium Owners (NACO) to develop "The Guidelines on Thermal Insulation for Buildings". The Guidelines provide complete information on the types of insulation materials, their properties, and construction solutions for their installation. In addition, the Guidelines provide information on the manufacturers of thermal insulation in Armenia.
Armenia: Energy Efficiency Market Assessment
The Yerevan office of the Alliance to Save Energy has completed an assessment of Armenia's current energy efficiency market potential to offer and absorb energy efficiency products and services. The Alliance has already assessed the Armenian market for heating equipment and services in 2004. The present assessment addresses insulation, efficient windows and lighting, ESCO services, VSDs, etc. as well as analyzes the financial resources for energy efficiency investments. This study aims to provide a holistic assessment of the energy efficiency market in Armenia's buildings sector - largely comprised of residential buildings - the second fastest growing energy consumer. The assessment is available for download in English and Armenian.
